The narcissus is similar to the daffodil but it comes with a different template and slightly different steps. I cut mine out on chipboard so they are sturdier and last longer Step 2: Cut out the leaves and petals onto the crepe.

Remember that the small three lines on each template piece indicate the grain of the crepe paper. With the edge of your scissors, gently curl each petal. It should be an easy curl. With a small piece of floral wire, wrap the base of the center of the narcissus and pull the wires down at the end.

Start adding on the petals to the base of the center of the flower by adding a dab of glue on. Fluff out the center of the flower by circling around with your index finger. Stick a wire up the base of the center and glue it.

Glue at the top of the stem slightly cutting off the base of the petals. Wrap around securely twisting the stem paper around the wire. When you want to add in a leaf simply dab some glue to the base and then continue wrapping around it again.

Cut off any excess at the end and glue the paper to the end. To create color at the top of the center of the flower, roll your small square of orange crepe paper, dab it in water, and use it like a crayon going around the center of the flower. Stay tuned for the project I create with it next week.

That’s because paper is made from trees. Sounds strange? Here is how. All the wood in the trees is mostly made up of fiber. Paper is made by processing the wood and its fiber.

It all starts by cutting down trees. The logs are then sent to a paper factory. The art, science, and technology of papermaking addresses the methods, equipment, and materials used to make paper and cardboard, these being used widely for printing, writing, and packaging, among many other purposes and useful products.

Paper can be made from flax, cotton, and hemp, among other plant fibers (American money is made from cotton!), but most is made from logs or from recycled paper that was itself made from logs.

Let. To make paper, trees are cut down and turned into wood chips.

The fibers, or cellulose, are extracted from the wood chips and put into a machine called a digester to be made into a paste called pulp. Paper made from chemical pulp and coated to ensure a smooth surface for printing is called coated fine paper (or woodfree paper) and used in the production of .
